| | Flower arrangement workshop
Saturday, July 27 (1-2pm)
This was the last workshop of three which were offered to all members for free. After a brief lecture of the Free style by Mrs. Suzumi Adams, four participants started to tackle flowers that they brought from home. Free style sounds as if there are practically no rules, but actually you have to keep in mind the beauty of surface material (leaves), line (stems), and mass (flower). When the participants made their arrangements, each received positive comments from Mrs. Adams, and their flowers were nicely retouched by her. It was amazing to see that her little changes made the flowers revive in front of their eyes.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Mrs. Adams. | | 会員へ無料で提供されたこのいけばな教室は今回が最後でした。１９４５年に始まったという“自由花”の説明で始まり、４人の参加者がそれぞれ持参の花々で思いのままの自己表現に試みましたが、自由花と言っても、活ける要素の基本である葉、茎、花をどうやって美しく表現するかに挑むという意義のあるクラスとなりました。参加者たちの作品にアダムス先生が少し手を入れてくださっただけで花々が一変して鮮やかになったのは驚きで一同で感動しました。講師のアダムス寿々美先生に心から感謝いたします。 | |
