| | As an attempt for a new program of MHJCA, the first "Senior Week" seminar event was held
on September 13th afternoon, with the Japanese American Associaiton of New York.
"Extended Cared Strategy: Solution for your long-term care in and out of the US and the tax
advantages" by Ms. Sanae Asai, Financial Advisor was attended by 11 MHJCA members and a
visitor who discovered the event over Internet search.
An hour and half long seminar was packed with valuable and practical information we
were looking for. Questions and answers were exchanged in a relaxed meeting room of
the familiar site, Community Room of Poughkeepsie Galleria. The seminar was followed by
an half hour chat time among members with tea and snack donated by members. Some caught up
good conversation after missing each other.
JAANY offers "Senior Seminar" several times each year with many useful topics. MHJCA will
invite these open seminar more in coming year. Your suggestions,interests, spreading to
local community is essential. Please write your idea to our office.
This program was suggested by a recent MHJCA member, Ms. Tomoko Taniguchi and materialized
with a help from the executive director of JAANY, Ms. Michiyo Noda. MHJCA thank to those
individuals.
It is also noticed that there are many talented MHJCA members who can offer an useful seminar
without commercial advertisement. If you think your volunteer service is beneficial to us,
MHJCA will include your program into this "Senior Seminar". Please write to Seminar Coordinator at office@mhjca.org.

プーキプシー ガレリアモールのコミュニティルームにて、MHJCA、JAANY（ニューヨーク 日系人会）との初の協賛プログラムを開催しました。
“介護対策：米国内外で対応できる方法と税法のメリット”と題し、フィナンシャル アドバイザーの
浅井早苗氏にお越しいただき、二時間にわたり、プレゼンテーション、質疑、応答を催しました。１１名のMHJCA会員の参加の外このセミナーをインターネットで検索された、日本人一名も参加されました。
また、お茶とお菓子を交えお互いの交信を深める良い機会にもなりました。
MHJCAでは、JAANYのシニアウィーク プログラムをこの先ポーキプシーに招き、会員、非会員を問わず多くに方に役立ってもらえるよう、計画をたて、アナウンスメントしますので、MHJCAのグループメールを参照ください。
尚MHJCAの会員の中には、このような役立つセミナーを、ボランティアとして、コマーシャル抜きで提供できる方もみえると考えられますので、興味のある方は office@mhjca.orgまで、お知らせください。
