| | This year's Annual Meeting combined with Annual Spring Gathering took place at the Golden Corral Buffet Restaurant in Poughkeepsie, NY. During the Annual Meeting, the schedule of future events and accounting report were announced in 20 minutes. It continued to be a social gathering until after 3pm. A total of 24 members and non-members attended.
Until now, Spring Gatherings have been taken places in Japanese-style restaurants, but while considering the preferences for non-Nikkei members/guests to enjoy their tongue, and it is very important for board to keep lower individuals’ spending, we have chosen to have it at an American-style restaurant.
All the attendees were given souvenirs of snacks from Japan, and they were invited to participate in a party to eat a freshly-made rice cake which is planned to hold in December.

Yuriko Tanaka-Jones | | 今年の総会は、恒例の春の集いと同時にポーキプシーのゴールデン・コーラル・ビュッフェ・レストランで行われました。総会は会計報告・今年の会の予定等を報告、約20分で終了。午後3時過ぎまで、親睦会となり会員･非会員合計24名の方々が出席されました。
今までは、和食系レストランで行われていた春の集いですが、日系人以外の方々の嗜好を考慮しつつ、個人の出費を抑える事を重視した為、アメリカン･スタイルのランチになりました。
全出席者には日本のスナック菓子のお土産が渡され、更に12月に行う予定のつきたてのお餅を食べる会の参加をご招待とさせて頂きました。
