Year-end Chit-chat Luncheon

It's always good to have something to remark the "year" at the end of the year, and it's even better if we could do it all together. Typically, Japanese call it "Bo-nen Kai (year-end party)" when colleagues, friends or class mates get together poking and picking Yosenabe or other kind of Nabemono, mixed veggies & meat cooked in pot with broth which flavors and ingredients usually vary depending on where you live. Well, that is the ideal Bo-nen Kai when the group is smaller. Since we got 25 members came to our year-end Chit-chat Luncheon today, we couldn't afford to cook Nabemono for all of us but thankfully Atsuko-san of our corporate member, Kitchen Atsuko, offered to make her special Shiwasu-bento to whomever desired.

While everyone was eating, talking and laughing, there was a Mini-Market selling Japanese snacks, dried goods and veggies. On the other side of the room, a projector was showing photos of our past events with music playing in the back. Thanks to Miyake-san who worked very hard to make it work properly. So, this was how we closed our activity in 2015.

It's been a good year for us as we were given many opportunities to try something new and fun, and it seems our name is known in our community more and more. I would like to thank all of you, members, for your support and to whom donated fund or items, and especially to whom dedicated precious time and energy as volunteers. Honestly, I never knew about our own Japanese culture as much as now. Indeed, it's never be too late to learn... Thank you, everyone, and I wish you ALL a Merry Christmas !!!
