Tanka Workshop #2

7/17/16 Tanka Workshop #2
The Summer Tanka Workshop was held at the Mori’s as usual. We’ve been practicing how to use “metaphor – figurative expression“ this year, and for this session we chose “Water” as a primary subject. It is no surprise to see all the experienced members who have already discovered own style seemed to have no problem for composing a phrase. I shall describe the way those writing Tanka fluently “smooth like floating water”. It is, however, very important to remember to be careful not to lose its own “originality”. The workshop was always filled with laughter, but it is the chit-chat time with snack and drinks brought in by each members the most fulfilling time as we all enthusiastically discuss what would be the next subject and share information. It is definitely true the energy and joy become highest level during the time. Those wonderful moment would certainly give me, as Tanka Instructor, a positive perspective and hope to pursue further level. Sincere apologies to those who couldn’t attend today’s workshop due to rescheduling.
