Tanka Workshop #3
This workshop was held at the Community Room in Poughkeepsie Galleria Mall as a trial to avoid driving long distance for Tanka members. The workshop was stimulated especially by new attendees and people who traveled all the way from New York City. I can’t express how delighted I felt as everyone showed full of enthusiasms. I did not assign theme for this workshop. I felt that there was somewhat relaxed atmosphere by reason of free theme workshop.
"Tanka Workshop" celebrates its 10th anniversary next year. I have proposed Tanka members for suggestions that would be a memorable. Although it is deeply emotive, I am thankful that I was able to guide through Tanka with joy for past 10 years all because of the people who gave me a passion for teaching. I myself had to study hard and I was able to keep a posture to challenge new Tanka all the time. 2019 Sheng Xiao or in Japanese Eto is based on a twelve-year cycle related to an animal sign zodiac, would be a “boar”. For that reason, I would like to advance as a New Challenging Year.
We always enjoy tea time after the workshop. Everyone hoped that the workshop can be held from now on at my house where place of emotions and nature can be prospected.
