Event Description

8/1, 8/15, & 9/19 MIZUYA Workshop

We practiced Bonryaku temae in Ryurei-style on 8/1, 15, and 9/19. It is the ultimate goal for attending this continuing MIZUYA workshop for past three months. A trainee was also aimed to debut on MHJCA’s introduction and fund-raising event held on 9/29/19 at Poughkeepsie Galleria Mall.

Bonryaku temae is also known as obon temae or bon temae or obondate or bondate, a simple procedure for making usucha. This is usually the first temae learned, and is the easiest to perform.

Ryurei-style temae is the prepared at a table, and guests are also seated at tables. In this style, there is also an assistance sitting nearby the host/ess’ seat to assist as necessary and serves the sweets and tea to the guests.
