Tanka Workshop #2

At last, we were able to have our Tanka Workshop in the Community Room at the Poughkeepsie Galleria on 11th of July ‘21.

The room was opened to the public despite the pandemic, so I asked the workshop members how they felt about having our workshop at there. All of them said “by all means”. Therefore, the workshop was held for the first time in a year and half.

As you may have expected, all of us getting together in person was far better than doing it by Zoom. The situation was more conducive for socializing and it’s very necessary for our workshop.

I also realized that this kind of atmosphere is very important in making Tankas. The Tanka title for this summer was “Tsune, Jo” or “usual state of things”. Some members felt that this title was a little difficult but it turned out fine.

I indeed would like to meet with all members by holding the workshop like this in the future.
