Gingerbread House Workshop
On Sunday, December 3, we held a gingerbread house workshop to welcome in the holiday season. Open to both members and non-member guests, we had 8 adults and 4 kids attend the event at the Poughkeepsie Galleria Community Room.
The tables were set up with gingerbread house kits, candy, and sprinkles, and we had holiday music playing in the background to add a festive feeling.
The adults were challenged to make tiny gingerbread houses. We were so impressed with everyone’s focus and attention to detail, all while joking about needing tweezers, toothpicks, and magnifying glasses.
The kids had slightly larger houses with personalized cookie nameplates and a bag full of chocolates and candies for decorating. It’s always so inspiring to witness the creativity of children and how their different personalities come out during activities like this.
As a first-time event, we think it was a hit and want to thank all of the participants who came out to join us!
Thank you to Atsuko Shimojo for leading this workshop and organizing everything, from baking and packaging all of the cookie kits to preparing the necessary materials and decorations. Also thank you to Masashi Miyake for being our event photographer and Yoko Izu for assisting throughout.
