The Mid-Hudson Japanese Community Association (MHJCA) is a
non-profit organization created and supported by dedicated individuals/
families and professionals. MHJCA members are residents of the Hudson Valley Region of New York State (Dutchess, Ulster, Orange,
Putnam and surrounding counties) who have an interest in Japanese
Culture, how it interact and intertwines with others, and wish to share
that interest with all who live around us.
2012 MHJCA Happenings
MHJCA offer free Japanese workshop to Non-Japanese speaking members on every 2nd Thursday, 6 P.M. of the month starting from May 10, 2012.
Cultural Enrichment program at JV Forrestal Elementary School on June 11 (Mon.), 9 -11 am.
Cha-Chat-Kai gathering, June 23. Details to follow.
TANKA Workshop, July 21. Details to follow.
Temari workshop on Feb. 2 (Thurs.) at Ginny Thompson's, 10 am - 3 pm, and every first Thursdays of the month.
Membership is opened to those of any ancestry, as long as there is a sincere interest in the Japanese cross-cultural mission.
Currently the MHJCA offers educational and cultural enrichment programs aimed to both children and adults in the Hudson Valley region. We also offer to our members and friends social events and workshops such as luncheons, holiday celebrations, crafts, cooking demonstration, calligraphy and some more.
The
Association welcomes inquiries from schools for Cultural Enrichment
Presentations. The program lasts about 2 hours, and include information
knowledge on Japan and its culture as well as hands-on experiences. The MHJCA is happy to
arrange a visit to your school for a presentation.
